When I was pregnant with my four year old I took a lot of things for granted. I had never had a complicated pregnancy before. All my children were healthy. Even with my twins ten years earlier, everything was on the up and up.
Until Isabella, I never had a folder that said HIGH RISK.

Five-year-old Eduard is a beautiful boy with big brown eyes. But by the time he was nine months old, he had already undergone 3 surgeries attempting to fix his cleft palate. At the age of five, Eduard finally received the corrective surgery he needed and now has a healthy future ahead of him.
Today, will you pray for the hundreds of babies born each year with cleft lips and palates? Pray that they would have access to the corrective surgery they need to improve their lives.

“WHY ARE CHILDREN BORN WITH THAT AWFUL CLEFT LIP?”
Bill Maher uses my birthright as an expression of the logical problem of evil. LOVE.
i met a woman today and i swear she had a cleft lip and palate like me. turns out she didnt.. or eles she did and just didnt want to talk about it. i duno, it made me think about times when ive met people before and asked if they do have the ‘disfigurement’ so we could discuss and share experiances. i was one of the luckier ones i guess, because some people apparently dont even notice i have it. ive always wanted to raise money for the smile train , and one day i will. its a charity which helps people in developing countries whose families have not had the funds for them to proceed and have the significant operation at birth. check. it. out. ;)
If I ever get rich… Half money will go to this. Cleft Lip is sad and serious. It kills these kids self-esteem (sometimes).

So, this is Simon. Simon woke up at 4 am to be able to catch several bus rides to Bethan Children’s Hospital in Kijabe, Kenya, where he will be given a chance. A chance to have a better quality of life, a chance to be accepted, and a chance to be loved. He put on a brand new outfit special for this day, the day when he would get a brand new smile. His chance for a better life is made possible by my parents and several other talented doctors and nurses. I am so proud of my parents. I love you guys. Keep making kids smile.
